Astronomy Study

“We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star.”

-Stephen Hawking

I am a member of the work group for astronomy at the “Haus der Natur Salzburg” and Pixinsight Austria, studying astronomy at the university of Lancashire and I am an enthusiastic astro photographer.

Astronomy is an opportunity to dive into a fascinating world teaching me humbleness due to the infinity of the universe demonstrating how dispensable our world and our problems in the bigger context are.

The most intriguing aspect of astrophotography is the necessity for a real good image that so many things need to interlock perfectly. The object choice, focal length, timing, , location, guiding, focusing, postprocessing etc etc, from every area you have to bring out the best.

I live close to Salzburg and have 2 dark sky locations within the range of one hour with the car above 1300m to indulge my passion.

My particular interest lies in postprocessing (stacking, image processing) because I truly believe this is key to an ingenious image.
